The 10k course starts at Navy Marine Corps stadium and traverses to Main St. around Church Circle in downtown Annapolis, heading to the famed City Dock. Participants will run down Ego Alley and then make their way back toward the Naval Academy campus. The route will reach the Naval Academy Bridge where the 10k will U-turn back towards Navy Marine Corps stadium for the finish and post-race celebration.

We explored several options with Annapolis and Anne Arundel County police departments and are thrilled to announce the courses for the 2023 Annapolis Running Festival. As we mentioned previously, the city of Annapolis and surrounding jurisdictions have specific rules as it relates to when events need to be out of the downtown/city dock area, as well as which roads and trials can be used. We are excited about the 2023 race routes but know that CSE will continue to tweak the route to find the best and most scenic courses even after this year’s event.

MAIL MY PACKET: Live participants will be given the option to have their race bib and premium mailed to them in order to limit travel and personal exposure. There is an additional fee of $25 to cover postage and handling. This option is offered as an add on during registration. If you did not select this add-on when registering and would like to add that Mail My Packet option, CLICK HERE for instructions. The deadline to do so is Feb 24.
All live runners who do not pay for the mailing option are required to pick up their packets in person or have a friend pick up their packet for them. There is no race morning packet pick up.
Virtual runners: Your packet will be mailed to you automatically as this fee is included in your registration.
The event will utilize the best timing technology available. The B-tag technology offers runners a streamlined race experience with timing tags attached to participant bib. This method eliminates the need to scan your chip at the expo or to return the chip following the race, which means no more sitting down to undo your shoe lace just after your run and you no longer have to worry about a charge for a lost chip.
Tips to have your time accurately recorded:
Virtual runners: The 2023 virtual race will be self-timed. You will have the opportunity to print a race bib and report your finish time into the official race results.
Our wonderful medical partner MedStar Heatlh is there for you, even during your virtual race. Learn more HERE.
MedStar Health will provide medical support on the course and in the finish line area. The Atlantic General staff will include certified doctors, registered nurses, physician assistants and EMTs and will provide the necessary medical attention to any patient in need. We are grateful to have the Atlantic General Hospital associated with the event.
Participants are strongly encouraged to securely store and share personal medical history in case of emergency for any race using RaceSafe. RaceSafe is secure, private, and takes less than 5 minutes.
